How are you really doing?

I ask myself this questions on a daily basis, How are you really doing? Consumed between being a mom, a provider, and a hectic work environment I find that I lose touch with myself. My daily routine consist of getting things done, working, and having little to no time to myself. But when the dust settles I realize I'm very stressed and overwhelmed.
As a woman I tend to hide my emotions and I keep on trucking until I can not truck any more. Sometimes I feel like a warrior because I can do it all! Other times I know I've pushed myself too hard. In those very specific moments its ok to sit back and really questions yourself. Give your mind and yourself a quick check up. Genuinely ask yourself probing questions like Are you ok, Can we make the best out of this situation? Can we move forward. Sometimes being consumed with so many things can cause a mental blockage and things start to get fuzzy. You anger easily, everything and everyone becomes bothersome and that is when you really need to take a closer look at yourself.
Mental health starts with positive mental thoughts. Encourage yourself daily and begin your day with positive affirmations. Believe it or not sometimes those positive affirmations are what really get you through the week! I've been in many situations at work where things are just falling apart and some people walk with a negative cloud over them. Its in those times that I remind myself that things are not going to always be this way. Better things are coming and change is on the horizon.
So for those of you reading this, How are you really doing today? I can only hope the answer is good and if its not I hope that by the end of the day you can go to sleep with a smile on your face.
